I’m sure our regulars have noticed that all our prices have gone up this week. I really wish we didn’t have to do this. In the last 18 months we have increased wages by 20%. Packaging and freight has increased by 25%. Wheat has increased 35%, Gas has increased by 105%. My generation doesn’t remember a time when prices have changed like this before. We hope you understand our 9% price increases. Thanks. Prairie Boy.

Hi everyone. We’d like to let you know about a fundraiser we’re helping out with. Our good friends are partnering with for . These wonderful people take their passion and friendship forged through riding motorcycles and raise money for various causes through the year. This February 26th, 5pm they are walking for COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR. Their 5k walk will start at Prairie Boy (201) Geary to .to and back. If anyone would like to start their own walk from our Geary st location please dm us.

Their partner organization SISTERING has asked for working cellphones/tablets/chargers if anyone has them lying around collecting dust. Let’s put that tech we no longer need to good use and into the hands of people who can really use them.

Each of our locations has a beautifully decorated box to receive said devices. Let’s fill those boxes. Tell your friends.

It's astonishing what our kitchen team is creating every single day. With a skeleton crew of staff and volunteers, and more people seeking food than ever before, they're serving hundreds of healthy, creative, and dignified dishes to anyone needing a good meal — especially in light of the harms COVID-19 has brought to precarious workers and those already impacted by poverty and food insecurity.

Today's lunch: Mushroom soup donated by Scaramouche Restaurant with extra roasted mushrooms from 100km Foods Inc., avocado, egg, and cucumber salad with sprouts grown by The Stop in our very own greenhouse, bread from Prairie Boy Bread, and the best dessert we've probably ever served: Deconstructed coconut cream pie, with filling from Scaramouche's famous dessert, whip cream, and homemade vanilla cookies.

Thank you to everyone who's donated to The Stop over the last few weeks. We'll keep working to ensure that our community members stay fed and connected during this crisis.
Not going downtown for a while, so I miss your amazing breads, but my daughter is experimenting with homemade sourdough (borrowed some starter from a family member). I think it’s turning out great (but more dense than Prairie Boy): check it out below. Any tips to make it less thick/dense?
