Hello everyone! I have a sad announcement. I will be closing the BettyFelonFashions shop this Monday. I don't know if this will be a forever close, but it is for now.

I want to express my sincerest gratitude to everyone who has supported me in this journey--customers, models, photographers, HMUA, event planners, and all my friends and family.

It has been a remarkable experience. I got to put my creative visions into tangible, wearable works of art and sell them all across the globe! I got to participate in fashion shows with incredible designers and models; work with supremely talented photographers; sell in markets with fellow entrepreneurs full of skill and ambition.

Most importantly, I got to create clothing customized to the wearer, to validate their unique beauty--whether cis, trans, small-busted, large-busted--to contribute something, even small, to changing notions of beauty. I will forever be grateful for this gift.

Hopefully, one day I can return to this work in some form or another. For now, however, with the world transforming as it is, and my need to transform as well, this shop does not feel relevant. I will keep the website up, as well as social pages. I may start to contribute in different ways, as they seem suitable.

From now until Monday, you can purchase items in my shop at a discount of 40% (use code BFFCLOSE at checkout). If you need to reach me between your purchase and store close, I will still be available online. All custom orders currently in planning will still be honoured.

Earlier today, I posted that I would be running a promotion this week, donating 50% of sales to Black Lives Matter. I received feedback that I was trying to profit off of black people dying, so I removed the promotional content. While 50% of sales donated does not allow me to profit off of the sales (it covers materials cost, not labour), that is not transparent, and the pairing of messages was wrong. My intention was to create a means to donate, not to profit off of lives lost, but I did this in a very privileged and ignorant way. I apologize sincerely. While I will still be donating half my sales to BLM, I will not be using this in my promotional messaging. If you are motivated to purchase from me simply because of this donation, I urge you to instead send your donations directly to Black Lives Matter, to the protester bail out funds across the USA, and to black-run/owned businesses. Please stay safe.❤

It's been a while, Instagram! How have you been? I've missed you! 😉
I've been working on some designs that are a bit different, but with the same BettyFelonFashions sass. These designs are available through Threadless.com, but find them on my site's shop page. Items are printed to order, so there is no overproduction waste, and designs are available in multiple types of products (i.e. t-shirts, sweatshirts, leggings, bags, shoes, pillows, etc.). As with all BettyFelonFashions products, customisation is offered -- from design tweaks, to a totally unique design -- just send me a message.

I love Lizzo. I love her music and I love her message. I'll admit, I was late to the Lizzo show, but once I heard of her, I was sold. Lizzo is changing beauty standards, and, in doing so, changing the world. If that reads like a reach to you, then you're probably not a person who has struggled with self worth based on body image. Fantastic for you! For those of us who have felt the pain of staring down at our respective bodies and wishing they looked different, you probably understand what I mean when I say Lizzo is changing the world. Lizzo is TALENTED, sexy, beautiful, and "fat" (among many other amazing qualities). And she's not sexy and beautiful in spite of being "fat," but because of them.

This year is starting a bit rocky... Personally, I rang in the new year in my PJs, sick with a cold. Generally, there's a lot of scary s**t going on in the world already (still). Let's make the best of a fresh start and vow to make more ethical choices.
