One of the top buys is KEN FORRESTER OLD VINE RESERVE CHENIN BLANC 2021- $17.95 - Vintages #231282 -$17.95 - which is Rich, Ripe, Well Structured and scores *** 91-points. Bright pale straw colour. Intense, fairly spicy, attractive, ripe, lemon-melon-apple meringue nose with some minerally, faintly honeyed, key lime pie notes. Dry, medium bodied, nicely structured, smooth, spicy, intense, fairly complex, ripe, melon-lemon-yellow-plum flavours with a lingering, fairly crisp, faintly honeyed, mineral-tinged, toasty-citrusy finish. This extremely tasty, bargain-priced, crowd-pleaser was barrel and tank fermented (about 50-50) and left on the lees for 19 months French oak (20% new). THE TOP SCORING WINE OF 2022 - 97-POINTS - LUSTAU VERMUT ROSE at $29.95 - In today's April 30 Vintages Release #21830. Here is my unsolicited unpaid for review: NEW in Vintages - only 624 bottles purchased. This Vermouth is one of the best ever & must be tasted to be believed. It has a light salmon pink colour. The phenomenal nose is a symphony of aromatics - black cardamom, nutmeg, sandalwood, honey, chamomile and buttered warm brioche all wound up with floral rose petals. It is gently sweet and well structured with superb, spicy flavours. Honeyed, floral, frais de bois fruit and warm buttery brioche flavours along with hints of orange citrus and classic, very fairly bitter, wormwood notes. Has 15% alcohol & goes on and on - bright, wonderfully harmonious and gently sweet. Buy two today - one for Mother's Day and another for yourself.
