Dear Camp Tikva Families,
I hope this message finds you all warm and healthy!
The first summer of Camp Tikva in 2019 was a dream come true for me. Spending each day with your children was so much fun! Watching them learn, grow, try new things and make new friends was very special. The field trips, colour war and canoe trip were highlights in a summer of firsts.
After a lot of research and discussion, I decided it was best not to operate last summer. This was certainly not planned when I opened Camp Tikva but like all of you, I looked forward to better days.
I write today to share news about Camp Tikva’s future. I have accepted a new position as the Director of JCC Camping. This includes The Jack and Pat Kay Centre Camp at the Schwartz-Reisman Centre in Vaughan and the new Prosserman JCC in Toronto as well as J Academy Camp and now, Camp Tikva, in a new format. We are planning an overnight experience for Camp Tikva families, which will be under the JCC banner, and will have more information to share in the new year.
I am thrilled that everything I hoped to offer at Camp Tikva can be offered through the JCCs at the Jack and Pat Kay Centre Camp. The brand new, state of the art campus, offers incredible amenities like salt-water pools, a splash pad, indoor and outdoor sports facilities and on-site security. I hope you will join me.
We are gladly offering Camp Tikva pricing to all families who join us at Centre Camp this summer. Stay tuned for more details!
Creating community at camp creates the community for our future. Camp is a place for children to be carefree, learn, laugh and grow. Having those experiences with their friends, old and new, will provide our children memories they will treasure forever. My intention in Jewish camping has been, and remains, to provide opportunities for children to celebrate and explore their Judaism and develop a love for Israel. Centre Camp will continue to provide the spirit of Jewish camp and Jewish community – I can’t wait to get started!
I want to thank you most sincerely for believing in Camp Tikva and believing in me. Summer 2019 will always hold a special place in my heart.
I am looking forward to being in touch in the new year with all of the exciting details. Bring on Summer 2021!
