My FAVOURITE thing to do while visiting another country is shop at local markets. Anyone else?!?! 🥬🍅🥑🌽🍓🌶🍈🫑🥥🍋🧅 I find that you can really get to know the culture of a place when you see what they eat, how they eat and how they cultivate their food. It really is such a blessing to be able to experience this. Mexico has been incredible in this regard. Not only do I LOVE Mexican food (my favourite to eat and cook) but I’ve grown to really appreciate their farming practices. Ive heard so many farmers talk about how connected they are to the land. How they cherish and carefully cultivate the land. This is so important and I LOVE to see it! Alsooooo, they were one of the first countries to ban glyphosate, a harmful pesticide!! WE LOVE TO SEE IT. All of this to say, I encourage you to shop local wherever you find yourselves. Go check out your local farmers market and maybe get to know a farmer or two. You won’t regret it. ✨

!!!!! I am making it my mission to normalize outfit repeating .. yes, I am an outfit repeater and I am PROUD !! You want to know why? Because re-wearing clothing can drastically reduce your consumption!! Why reduce your consumption of clothing??? Well uh because 1. 3 out of 4 garments will end up in landfills or be incinerated 2. Garment manufacturing contributes to 20% of water pollution 3. We actually buy twice as many pieces of clothing as we did 20 years ago!!! Don’t give into fast fashion!!!! BE AN OUTFIT REPEATER, BUY PREVIOUSLY LOVED CLOTHING, CHOSE TO PURCHASE FROM TRULY ETHICAL AND RESPONSIBLE CLOTHING MANUFACTURERS!! ** sorry for yelling (again) as my grade 8 teacher would say “I’m not angry, I’m frustrated” and also I’m just so passionate about this subject!!! Our choices matter, we have power as consumers so let’s use it for the better!! Ya?? You down?? Ok cool,

Does anyone else end up cutting almost all the jeans they own into shorts when warm weather rolls around?!?! I doooo 🙋‍♀️ A part of me thinks I’m being resourceful but then I always end up needing more jeans once the weather cools down..

YOU GUYSSS, the view that was served with this mornings coffee was next level.

I was so filled with gratitude as I basked in the sun and looked out into the landscape that surrounded me. This world man... This wonderful world gives so much to us. Yet, we seem to take it for granted. We uproot, deplete, disrupt and dismiss this land. This breaks my heart. However, I AM hopeful. I am hopeful that soon more people will honour the land we are so intimately connected to. Hopeful that we will learn how to work WITH the land and GIVE back to the land as opposed to the land only serving us. I seriously encourage you to get outside today, take a deep breath of some fresh air, find thankfulness in that moment and then bask in it.

Thankful for this land.

I LOVE FORAGING!!!! 🌱🌱🌱
Today I was out walking in the backyard of the house we are staying in and I stumbled upon a couple of big sections of Wood Sorrel. They look similar to clover but have heart-shaped leaves and in this case tiny yellow flowers.

I LOVE Wood Sorrel because they have an amazing tangy lemony taste to them and are sooo so yummy (and pretty) in salads.

THEY ARE GOOD FOR YOU TOO!! These little foraged “weeds” are packed with Vit C and A. This specific plant that I foraged is also called Oxalis Stricta and they contain oxalic acid which should not be consumed in large quantities!
