Exactly one year ago today, on Marc's birthday, our lives changed forever. We closed our family flower shop. What a difference a year makes! With hindsight, we realize it was truly a blessing in disguise and we are grateful that we are no longer a small business in these tumultuous COVID times. Thank you to everyone who supported Florabunda for the 10 years we were open.

It was 11 years ago this week we opened out beautiful flower shop Florabunda in Leslieville. Next month it will be 1 year since we closed. We miss it so much, but as it is with life, it has worked out for us. With the situation the world is in now, we feel blessed that we did close before the pandemic. Thank you so much for all your support over the years, we miss you all!

To all our friends, families, neighbours and customers,

It’s with a very heavy heart we are announcing that we are closing Florabunda – Leslieville’s Flower Market on September 30, 2019.

Over the last 10 years, we have been privileged to be a part of the Leslieville neighbourhood – providing flowers, plants, beauty, love, joy, and celebration to so many of you.

Although our business is thriving, our costs have continually been increasing over the last several years and with a new lease proposal to increase our rent over 53%, the economic viability of staying in business has been drastically reduced. The rent increase would result in almost tripling of our rent since we opened the shop in 2009 and rather than increasing our prices and effectively working for our landlord, we have made the difficult decision to close our shop.

We feel blessed that we have been so much a part of the neighbourhood that we live in over the last 10 years. Being able to contribute to so many joyous moments – births, marriages, graduations, housewarmings, celebrations and milestones - has been a privilege we will never forget.

We do not know what our family's future will look like right now but we do know that we have loved our time at Florabunda and Leslieville will always be our home.

We are open for business until September 30th, and hope to see you before then. Watch our page for more information about upcoming sales and specials.
