You don’t need a perfect studio to start.
You just need to begin.

This is my tiny pottery corner - tucked into a storage space, built from what I already had. No big setup, no fancy shelves… just small adjustments that made room for creativity.

There were days I felt tempted to buy everything for that “perfect” pottery setup (you know how it looks online).
But don’t fall for that.

Start with what you have. You’ll figure the rest out along the way :)

Here’s what helped me:
1. Use any stand or even a simple bookshelf.
2. Lay down a tarp to protect the floor from water and clay spills.
3. If you have a wheel, amazing. If not, a table works just fine — start with hand-building to understand the nature of clay.
4. Organize your tools. No need for fancy storage — cardboard or Amazon boxes work great (saves money and keeps things out of the landfill).
5. Keep your clay accessible and your tools within reach.
6. Use buckets to stay organized. Stackable ones save space, but any bucket or lidded container will do.
7. If you have leftover wooden planks, gather them — they’re perfect for storing and drying pieces. Anything with legs and a flat surface works: foldable bed tables, rectangular plant stands, or similar setups. I’ve been doing this for 4–5 years now.

And that’s really it.

Create a system that feels calm and easy for you.

Start messy. Start small.
But start.

Because waiting for “perfect” will only delay your passion 🤍
