My One bedroom Parkdale/Roncesvalles flat is available for short sublet rentals starting in June. Know of anybody who needs a spot while in the city? Feel free to reach out.

Great size living room and huge kitchen, big bedroom with queen bed. Utilities and Wi-Fi included front porch on a quiet street, shared backyard. Broken headstock. And sitting in a case unused with much rust, cobwebs and the like. I tried to match the headstock repair, then relic it enough to take attention away from any scars on the original crack, and to make the instrument seem it’s age rather than Looking like a brand-new, shiny head stock on a 60 year old guitar.

This thing is a real beauty. And once repaired, then cleaned up and polished it really pops.

Just a pre-tour setup on the basses of

Made them play together like long lost friends eventhough they hardly know each other. Set them up as close to each other as possible.

Oh, that on the left? That’s the creation on . Best to go to his or Steve’s IG for info on that. But, it feels and sounds insanely good. The he installed (with a parallel/series toggle 💦🤓) rules the world IMHO. Can’t say enough good things about that ax.

Oh. And I put one of my custom walnut thumbrest/tug bars on the . Small potatoes in comparison, I know. I should’ve started off with that and worked my way up.

Beauty belonging to and built by . It’s beautifully assembled. I installed a . Hides under the scratch plate and does all kinds of cool sounds different than a regular esquire or regular . It’s hard to explain… it’s just different okay?? There’s nothing wrong with being different. Be yourself. Goes for electric guitars as well.

Supervibes. 1960s . Needed some serious backbowed neck “persuading”, shimmed heel pocket, raised nut and a whole mess of wiring repairs including some fine pickup coil soldering (thanks for the prior tips ). Great sounding bass belonging to . Way more playable now.

1964-65 / 1487 with an built in! Yeah! Sweet too!
•
This thing got a new nut cut for wider/proper string spacing, and a lot of random fret re-seating, re-glueing and then fret spot levelling and recrowning. The loose frets made it a chore to isolate the buzzes and high frets for real, as over time they’ve decided to pop up from their already suspect, original installation methods.

Regardless, this is an eternally cool looking machine.

Oh, hey. I didn’t see you there. You caught me noodling in my music nook.

Just a heads up to those needing some stringed instrument work/setups/repairs done, I am accepting instruments at the moment and as always, offer pretty quick turnaround times for those itching to woodshed and play their instruments during lockdown and the cold winter months.

One of the rarer items to find for vintage or vintage style bass guitars is the curved that have all but disappeared, and seem to be no longer in production. wanted one on this beaut, so I carved a bunch up, the dimensions from the photos online.
•
Sanded and polished it up then gave her a full setup. This thing is long and lean and not to far in-between. I have no idea what that means. But I always remembered saying it in my favourite movie .
