Please know the size of which your glass-on-glass downstem is compatible before you place your order for an ash-catcher. Crash-Course in Glass-on-Glass Measurement:

Measurements are taken of the diameter of the widest part of the semi-cone-shaped

sandblasted portion which may come to an edge. Precision in your measurement is unnecessary as the difference between 14.2mm and 18.8mm is 4.6mm which is almost 1/2cm which is a considerable length by comparison. Using a tape measure or ruler, one will find the diameter or width of the widest portion of the sandblasted connection cone to be either nearer to 14mm or nearer to 18mm assuming, of course, you have a glass-on-glass compatible downstem which would include a sandblasted portion at the connection area. Of course, it’s not the end of the world if you did purchase the wrong size as glass-on-glass adapters and/or new downstems can be purchased although, not all hookahs can fit a larger downstem and it’s not appealing to receive an item only to find it doesn’t fit.
