Let’s support our neighbours! In this difficult time, it is more important than ever to look out for one another. The amazing front line heroes at St. Stephen’s Community House have been working every day serving the Kensington Market neighbourhood. Earlier today we stopped by to drop off some donations of gently used clothing and fresh fruit as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting this great organization and the community we serve.

We at One Plant Kensington Market are a diverse team and the recent events have affected us all deeply. OPK has always made giving back to the community we serve one of our top priorities. We are proud to partner with St Stephen’s Community House and Overdose Prevention Site. In light of recent events we feel we need to do even more. We need to do better. We owe it to our employees and the community we serve. We will extend support to groups fighting for change in the criminal justice system.

We know that the history of cannabis prohibition is also one that is inherently and systemically racist. It has disproportionately ruined Black and Brown lives, torn families apart and incarcerated many.

We are committed to educating ourselves on how we can become part of the solution and be a strong anti-racism ally to our friends, coworkers, family members, our city and our country.

There is an interesting seminar hosted by .wiki taking place tonight at 6pm, addressing the issues in our criminal justice system as it pertains to ma*****na charges and along with us we encourage anyone else who is passionate about this cause to check it out.
