St. Paddy’s day is almost here and we're tickled green to share some luck o’ the Irish and raise a glass with friends at The Bend Kensington! In honour of patron saint, St. Patrick we're featuring Molo 5 brew! Maybe you don’t want to indulge in the customary green beer this year but still want to partake in a little green? Happy International Women’s Day! Today we celebrate ALL WOMEN! We couldn’t celebrate this fabulous day of feminism without shedding a light on the disproportionate effect the Covid-19 pandemic has had on women and girls and especially indigenous and women of colour all over the world. Due to quarantine and isolation the rate of domestic abuse and gender based violence is going up in urban and rural communities. Studies show women are taking on the majority of child care and home duties which greatly affect their ability to work, earn money and their mental health. Due to these and other factors it is taking women longer to get back to work or restart their business. In light of all of these factors, International Women’s Day is a wonderful reminder to continue to notice, lift up and support the women in your life and remember to protect women and girls outside your bubble whenever you can!

In support of our gal pals/sisters/daughters/femme fetales standing against oppression and supporting the progress of female rights, we will be donating 10% of all proceeds today to the Canadian Women’s Foundation, an organization that helps women out of situations of gender based violence, poverty, and funds grants to develop small businesses and social enterprises.

Here at The Bend we know maintaining healthy ecosystems and conserving wildlife habitat is so important for the future of our planet. To raise awareness and support our wild pals from coast to coast we will be donating 5% of our sales today to the Canadian Wildlife Federation. The is a non profit organization that works to conserve and inspire the conservation of Canada’s wildlife and habitats for the enjoyment of all! 🌎 ♥️ 🌿
