As a brand who’s motive is to uplift black women, and recognize us as the driving force in the black community and the influencers of culture, I would not be doing justice if I did not acknowledge the travesty that our women and men face in our community. As others indulge in our vibes, music and aesthetic, we are being incarcerated and killed — at the hands of the same people who enjoy and capitalize off of us. We are not your vehicle to pleasure and we are not made for your consumption! Be present not only when we “get lit” but also when the elephant in the room needs to be addressed. Justice for George, Ahmaud, Breonna and countless other black lives that have been taken. And while I stand with our black men, do not forget Breonna and other black women who are forgotten and overshadowed in this fight. Say her name.
