Not to be controversial but…
There isn’t an “a” in the spelling soooooo I’d like to think “skeen” is the way it’s pronounced 😝
Ive had a few people recently comment on my “One Skein Makes” series telling me I’m saying it wrong and I’d like to think I just say it different !
Whats your preference??!

One Skein Makes - Part Four 🧶
You may have noticed that I reaaaallly like crocheting Octopus, they are one of my best sellers at markets so i recently decided to add another one to my pattern collection.
Swift the Octopus is about twice the size of Drift and when made using larger plush yarns makes a great sensory cuddle buddy!
I also decided to add a Brody the Bronto to the mix today, it’s been a loooong time since I made one but they are completely no sew and take me about 25 minutes to make.
If you’re curious where to find any of these patterns they are all available over on Etsy with the pattern designer credits below!

Swift the Octopus - Tester Call
Since Octopus are my favourite creature to crochet and Drift + Rift have been so popular, I decided to design a larger version to join the Stitchkins collection! Swift the Octopus is about 1.5-2x the size of Drift and depending on the yarn used can be quite large while still working up decently quickly with about 100 yards of material. If you swipe to the last slide you can see a size comparison with all 3 together!
Im looking for a group of talented interested testers to help me finalize this pattern. I will be selecting testers and adding them to a group chat on Tuesday May 26th with the pattern launching on Saturday June 6th! This test will be conducted in Canva so that updates can be made on the go. Testers may use any colour or yarn type. So far I have used 3 different yarn types as seen in the photo slides!
To Apply:
- Please be comfortable with amigurumi techniques and reading patterns. This is an intermediate pattern.
- Please be following me (So I can send you messages and add you to the group chat).
- Comment below expressing your interest!
- Please have a public crochet account.
Optional:
- Tag a friend who you think might also be interested in applying!
- Story shares are not necessary but greatly appreciated 🫶

One Skein Makes PART 3 🧶
I hope you’re all enjoying this series as much as I am! Not only is it helping me stay motivated with my market prep, but it’s a fun way to share some of my favourite makes AND my own patterns!
This week I decided to make one of my favourite Stitchkins, one that I feel most people don’t know about, Cinder the Dragon! They are perfect for modifying into your favourite dragon pal, they make the perfect addition to a renfaire outfit and they’re just an overall fun make. I don’t keep many of my own makes but I have a Cinder at home as part of my collection 🐉

Endless Waterfalls!
Costa Rica was incredible and while we saw a plethora of wildlife, what we seen the most of was waterfalls. Some days we took excursions specifically to find the most incredible waterfalls, the most memorable being Jurassic Canyon and Nauyaca Falls !

HAND PUPPETS!
Sooooo I’ve been making finger puppets for a year and a half at this point but I’ve always pondered the idea of a larger hand puppet.
The finger puppets are definitely more market friendly, but playing with a giant hand puppet dragon is just as fun!
At some point soon I plan on writing up this pattern and who knows, maybe it’ll be the first of a new collection. There’s just a few modifications I want to make first. Like moving the opening back further on the head to make it function a bit nicer.

One Skien Makes Part Two 🧶
I’m already having a lot of fun with this series, and honestly I didn’t expect to get 8 items out of this single skein! I have a few summer markets so this series is going to help me stay accountable but also provide some insight and show just how profitable you can be with a single skein of yarn!
The most common comment I got from the first episode was that I’m fast but no matter what your speed is, I think you should be factoring your time into your pricing. All of my pricing is based on time + materials so that I am paid fairly + the items are priced reasonably so they are accessible to everyone.
What patterns would you like to see me try out for future episodes??

One Skein Makes Part 1 ! 🐙
It’s officially market season and time to start preparing myself so I thought this would be a fun way to market prep but also share my process and promote some patterns along the way. I’ll be focusing on my Stitchkins patterns and any other market favourites that I’ll be making!
I don’t talk numbers very often but since my patterns are focused towards market makers and one of my goals is to make them efficient to maximize profits, I’m making an exception 🧶

All you need is a grommet!
Well a grommet + a grommet kit + a hammer, but it really is that simple!
As someone who crochets on the go in public quite a lot, I’ve tried a few different options but never could find a crochet bag that fit my needs. They all come across looking bulky or are specifically for crafting which isn’t the best when you’re someone who wants to grab yarn and go.
I wanted something that didn’t stand out as an obvious yarn bag and would still function to carry stuff while out and about. Which is where I got the idea to just modify one of my favourite backpacks!
As a right handed crocheter I like to have my yarn feed from the left so I mapped out the perfect spot close to the bottom, centred for aesthetic purposes, and got to work! This was my second time adding grommets (flashback to the flag) and they are much easier than they look! All you do is trace the grommet hole, cut the fabric and hammer the front+back together!
I’ve been thinking about adding grommets to a few other bags, is this something you would do?
