Greetings from Veritable Infusion!
Next episode coming tonight at 8pm EST on ciut.fm online and 89.5 FM in and around Toronto.
Pictured are some Og Records comps from the late 80s / early 90s. This label was one of few in Canada carrying the torch for real raw recordings.
Also gonna start with a few Indigenous jams, have some birthday/ anniversary/ upcoming shows to talk about and play music for...
It should show up later, online at ciut.fm/shows/veritable-infusion sometime tomorrow.
Got a few seasonal jams squeezed in, nothing that ever gets played much, that's a promise I can keep...!
Also gonna look back a bit at 1975 and try to make a case for it as rock or at least classic/ dino rock's last great year for tours.
Also, CIUT as a dedicated non-profit radio station is still gratefully accepting pist fund drive donations on the web page.

Greetings from Veritable Infusion!
Busy times ironically mean quiet times out here on social media... but the show soldiers on, and tonight will feature some African records and jams among a bunch of other things, including Buffy Sainte Marie who's playing Massey Hall tomorrow... then a brief celebration of Massey Hall since it's been all over local news this past weekend.
Show starts tonight Monday at 8pm EST at ciut.fm online and 89.5 FM near and in Toronto.
Still recirding at Basil's on Gerrard but the studio awaits our return. As time marches on, the bills keep coming through and we are delighted with the support we've received this fall fund drive and we continue to hope for the continuing online support to, ahem, continue.

Greetings from Veritable Infusion! Getting ready to ride a radio wave ... Veritable Infusion starts at 8pm e.s.t. at CIUT 89.5 FM in and around Toronto. Www.ciut.fm online for the rest of the world.
It's our fall fund drive, and today is Day 1, we would really really love to hear from.you!
Tax receipts, prize draws including a trip for 2 to Iceland, 89.5$ and up gets you a membership and more...
Did someone say tax receipts? With that in mind, tonight's show's going to have a feature on... tax scam records!
Not a music genre, but very much record and record collecting genre, with some big ticket items, I might add.
So what do the abovev4calbums have in common?
They are tax scam records! Find out all about this obscure corner of music collecting, tonight on Veritable Infusion!
Also gonna play some Icelandic jams! And starting with some Indigenous blues and more.
Also gonna say farewell and Roll In Peace to Seeco Patterson from the Wailers (Bob Marley's, not the surf band).
Recorded with love and patience at Basil's on Gerrard.
Tune in and help out, at ciut.fm

Still a sucker for old bootlegs, especially when the price is right.
Still on ice as Basil's for now, but recording my radio show from the front studio which is now more if an office and kids' birthday party room.
This album is from a King Biscuit radio broadcast as sounds real nice. The whole show us now easily found online, it's from Lexington in 1974, with some pretty funky moments.
Chicago seem like a simultaneously under and overrated band. Their massive popularity sort of precludes most groove seekers from giving their albums the time of day, but I put Chicago up above B.S.T whom I also enjoy, but not as funky as T.O.P. know what I'm saying? And overrated in my modest opinion as some of their later hits are real products of their era...
So just posting a little hello to say we are alive..! Been a while...
Might start record sales online. Stay tuned. This lp is not for sale, just brandishing it on Instagram!
In the meantime, still taping Veritable Infusion here, heard in and near Toronto on CIUT 89.5 FM Monday nights, or ciut.fm/shows/veritabke-infusion online all the time.
Little caveat- I'm a ham fi**ed goon with a tiny baby finger keypad on my fone, sorry for any obvious spelling errors.

Good evening from Veritable Infusion radio coming on in about an hour at 8 pm.EST on ciut 89.5 fm in and around Toronto, or www.ciut.fm everywhere else.
Tonight, starting with Indigenous toonage as usual and moving on to a soul on stage set with music from Daptone and Martha and the Vandellas. Congrats Martha Reeves on hittingb80 yesterday!
And we'll say good bye to Biz Markie who sadly passed away Friday.
Veritable Infusion should be on the station archive at ciut.fm/shows/veritable-infusion from tomorrow afternoon or so for about a week.
Somehow still recorded at Basil's on Gerrard, thankfully the reno has been steamrolling along since replacing the useless contractors we had first. Lord have mercy on Saint Basil's Toronto namesake.

Greetings from Veritable Infusion! Today's weather changes every few minutes, but this is a recent pic of Woodbine Beach- I've had fun at night there too, but lately there are too many idiots shooting fireworks into crowds of people on weekend nights...
Tonight, in less than couple of hours, Veritable Infusion hits Toronto airwaves, that extend to both sides of two Great Lakes on a clear night... at 89.5 FM at or ciut.fm from 8 to 10 pm.
June is Indigenous History Month in Canada, and this week theres a bit about the Wabanaki - Mi'kmaq Confederacy on tonight's show, and we'll start out with an East Coast Indigenous set of mostly hip hop.
Following that up with some soul, reggae and a funk set from the Middle East. An, ahem, veritable Islamic music journey, to be sure. Does music help different people unite? We can only hope... thinking about that in light of a recent event not in T.O. but nearby in London, Ontario.
I'm not great at follow up posts, so if you're curious about the show after the fact, it usually shows up for about a week on the station archive at ciut.fm/shows/veritableinfusion .
Still reaching for the stars following the fund drive, or at least $100k of stars, check the website to help us out!
Still defying the odds and recording at Basil's on Gerrard... which I still hope to see rise like a dirty, dusty Phoenix, from the piles of mud and moisture underneath...

I have a feeling this video will show up as a still shot, but here goes...
A few minutes ago, I was horrified by this fire near the Gerrard Beer Store... it grew and spread really fast, and I sure hope the chatter I overheard about the first house bringbunder renovation and presumably unoccupied st the time.
So I thank my lucky stars and hope this fire produces no casualties, and doesn't ruin anybody life.

Happy belated birthday to a Veritable king of Minneapolis, Prince on June 7.
I played a couple of hits off this fine l.p. I found in Montreal about 30 years ago. It wasn't in great shape when I got it, and I admit I kind of trashed it over the years. I used to d.j. the occasional party or event and this was a pretty good one to throw on.
And throw it on I did for a bit on yesterday June 7th's edition of Veritable Infusion, broadcast Monday nights in and near Toronto at 89.5 fm CIUT and online thereafter for a week or do at ciut.fm.

Also a birthday nod and segue via Tom Jones, then hit some obscure funk and disco hits.
June is Indigenous History Month here in Canada, and in the wake of the recent discovery of children's secret graves at the Kamloops Residential School, I talked a little bit about history of The Mohawk Institute near Brantford and similar accusations of secret children's graves. Music from that set was from Six Nations artists as well as The Mighty Mohawks and the North Stars with their popular "Monsters."
Second set of the first hour is Craig Cardiff- live and talking to me.
It was an interview I kind of botched (audio wise on my end) but resurrected so Craig sounds fine, even if I sound like I'm yelling at him through a walkie talkie! He played 3 songs live, as well.
Recorded while the building shakes, at Basil's on Gerrard.

Hiya's from Veritable Infusion! Latest show ought to be on the station archive here - ciut.fm/shows/veritable-infusion - sure hope that works as a link...
Beefed a little about languages and the Canadian constitution before moving on to Mali. Related Tunage accompaniment. Les Sinners lp does, of course, refer to Pierre not Justin.
The Toubabou lp is an early vinyl slice of small-w world music, having come out of a live concert with members of Ville Emard Blues Band and musicians from Mali as well as Sierra Leone and Togo, I believe.
The 3rd lp is some modern music but timeless, not locked into this precise moment, from Alkibar Gignor. It's a heavy acoustic guitar album, but of course there is surely a Kora or more on here!
Played a couple of plastic songs for our plastic problems, literally not figurative, and some Juno jams - at least songs from 3 artists connected to the 50th anniversary June's this weekend. Go Julian Taylor!
Veritable Infusion can be heard on Toronto and surrounding airwaves at 89.5 fm and online at ciut.fm.
CIUT is still heading to its 100K $ goal for the spring's fund drive and if you'd like to help us get there, we'd love to hear from you at the website!
Still somehow recording this at Basil's on Gerrard.

Greetings from Veritable Infusion! Posting as Basil's where I am somehow still recording the show despite the place falling down around my ears.
My computer broke down Friday, the morning after I taped an interview with singer Craig Cardiff... anyhow, found some other stuff to play but I hope to either dig out my dead hard drive or retake the interview.
Played a little Latin funk set, with jams from the States, Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil and of course Colombia.
Then hit some soul 'scurities and funky sounds... talked a bit about the show and my motivation because...
It's...
SPRING FUNDRAISING WEEK!
So we really want to hear from you - our piles of volunteers including mice elf... our skeletal staff team... the steady stream of bills associated with keeping a radio station afloat even when the dj's and hosts are all free...
Come check us in and around Toronto at 89.5 FM where Veritable Infusion starts at 8 pm or go to the site, taking donations as I type, at ciut.fm online.
