Let’s talk, vendors.
One of the biggest issues I see in our industry, especially within our community, is the belief that the fastest way to get business is to undercut someone else’s pricing.
If you see a business doing well at a certain price point, that does not mean the market is too expensive. It means there is value, trust, skill, and experience behind that number. The answer is not to copy the service and charge half. It is to invest in your own skill set, refine your offering, and create something that stands on its own.
Undercutting is not sustainable. It hurts long term growth, devalues the craft, and creates a race to the bottom that no one wins. Successful businesses are not built on being the cheapest. They are built on consistency, quality, and confidence in what you bring to the table.
I would love to hear from other vendors. Have you experienced this?
