After 18 years Thunder Bay gallerist Debra Chenier, owner of Chenier Fine Arts on Court Street South announces her retirement from the art and framing business. Debra has experienced a fulfilling and rewarding career working over 50 years in the arts field across Canada, from coast to coast.
A big thank you to my loyal clients and friends for their ongoing support in purchasing original Canadian art and supporting the artists I represent.A special thanks goes out to Ontario ceramicist and painter Shane Norrie who was the first artist I represented on a larger scale. It was his always evolving paintings that helped my client's transition from an appreciation of traditional landscape to abstraction.
I am grateful for my clients' appreciation of my custom framing ideas and the selection process we go through together in order to really fine tune our choices. I love what I do.
I particularly enjoyed doing in-home art consultations and being a part of assisting people to transform their living spaces with fine art and fine framing. Art does change people's lives.
Throughout the many years spent in my two galleries on Court Street, I had the privilege of working with exceptional gallery staff, Duncan Weller and Ric Windsor whose support has been inspirational and invaluable to me. Many thanks to my art agent Dimension Plus; Julia, Valerie & Diane, and to the over 50 artists Chenier Fine Arts has been proud to represent. Lastly, I want to thank my friend and trusted art and business advisor Elizabeth for her kindness, sense of humour and always wise words.
