Trying my best to come up with a way to say thank you to you all for yesterday.
Not just to everyone who stopped into the shop — but also to every person who shared the Facebook post, liked it, commented, tagged a friend, or helped spread the word. You truly have no idea how helpful that is in the social media world, especially for a little independent bookstore trying to reach people organically 💛
And beyond that…
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to every person, friend, artist, and author who came in yesterday to say hello, celebrate with us, or buy a book.
So many people came out to support us yesterday — from incredible local authors whose books we proudly carry, to artists, customers, and friends from so many different seasons of my life.
It was wonderful having Nicole Northwood in the shop signing books (and for anyone who missed her yesterday, we still have signed copies in stock 💛📚).
And then, as the day was winding down, Sarah Emsley walked in. I’ve recommended The Austens to so many of you, and I was so shocked and delighted by the visit that I completely forgot to even get a photo with her 🤦♀️💛
But walking out of the shop last night, locking up after our grand opening and feeling surrounded by the warmth and care of this incredible bookish community…
All I could really think was thank you.
Thank you for supporting small business.
Thank you for supporting the arts in Nova Scotia.
And thank you for supporting our tiny little village bookstore.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
See you Wednesday 😉
