So, I've had to give up the shop. It sucks, but it just wasn't feasible at the moment. And I gotta tell ya, a setback this big ( especially for something I've been dreaming of doing for years) does a number on one's mental health. So first of all, apologies for being incommunicado for the past month.

I've had a good long think, and I've decided this isn't the end of Junior's Hobbies. I will re-open someday, don't know where or when, but it will happen.

In the meantime, the online shop is still open at www.juniors-hobbies.com, and I'm offering free delivery for minimum orders of 30 dollars, up to a radius of 50 km from my house in Howie Centre.

Keep an eye on this page for updates, and hopefully I'll be welcoming you all to a new shop someday soon. Thanks to all of you!

Revell Jaguar E-type finished! I'll put a full review up on the website later today, but in a nutshell, a very detailed kit that goes together beautifully. My tweezers and 10/0 paintbrush got a workout, for sure!

One issue with the E-Type kit (and so far, the only issue) is the way the wheels look out of the box; they're moulded as one piece, so they need a bit of work to look like real spokes. So I had to use another basic technique; the wash!

While working on the E-Type (one still available!) I had to paint the rear springs, using the dry-brush technique. So, for the benefit of those who are new to the hobby, I present the following mini-tutorial on dry-brushing. Experienced builders, feel free to roll your eyes now 🙄

Next up on the bench: Revell's Jaguar XK-E, or E-Type! I'm not going to do anything fancy to it, just build it straight out of the box. Because look what's in the box! 142 pieces, and thanks to the all-new tooling, minimal part lines and virtually no flash whatsoever! One of the nicest kits I've seen. I had to sand a few spots on the body shell to get rid of part lines, but not too aggressively or too much.
