The Port of Sydney is proud to welcome the Cape Breton Fiddlers' Association to the World's Largest Fiddle, for an afternoon of great music in support of a meaningful cause!

Sunday, November 8, from 2–4 p.m. the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion will host a special fundraising concert featuring Donnie Campbell, Jinx O'Neill and members of the Cape Breton Fiddlers' Association.

Proceeds will support the Fiddling for Remembrance trip to Europe, honouring our veterans through music.

Tickets will be available at the door!

Come out, enjoy some fantastic Cape Breton music and support a great cause. We hope to see you at the Big Fiddle!

Looking for a toe-tapping afternoon of music in Sydney, Cape Breton in November? Look no further!

🎻 It’s Marathon Weekend at the Fiddle!

The Cape Breton Fiddlers Marathon is happening this Sunday, October 18, and we’re looking forward to welcoming runners and visitors to the Sydney waterfront!

If you’re planning to visit the Port of Sydney, please be aware of some temporary traffic changes between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

⚠️ The Esplanade will be closed between Desbarres Street and Townsend Street.

🚷Streets connecting Charlotte Street to the Esplanade will also be blocked.

🛳️Traffic heading toward the Big Fiddle for cruise ship activities will be escorted through the affected area.

Our waterfront will be a busy spot, so please allow a little extra time, watch for runners and follow directions from traffic personnel.

Thank You, Cape Breton!

One of the best parts of cruise season is watching our community welcome the world to Cape Breton.

From the people working on the waterfront and throughout the tourism industry to local businesses, tour operators, musicians, artisans and residents who simply stop to offer directions or say hello, that welcome matters.

Thank you for helping make Sydney and Cape Breton a place our visitors remember.

October is shaping up to be a strong finish to the 2026 cruise season, with 32 scheduled calls representing approximately 51,100 passengers and 24,700 crew - nearly 75,800 visitors combined.

October includes many double-ship days and triple-ship days, with vessels ranging from large cruise ships carrying approximately 3,000 passengers to smaller luxury and expedition vessels.

As always, the cruise schedule remains tentative and subject to change.
