Farm life carries a daily reminder of how precious and fleeting life can be.

Today we said goodbye to baby Roos, our rooster we have had for only 6ish weeks, but since he was a day old.

We have also said goodbye to a baby turkey and a baby chick, both lost within a week of their little lives.

Alongside these feelings of loss and grief, are excitement and joy at having just welcomed our new pup Mazy to our family, as well as the prospect of meeting two litters of baby bunnies that are (hopefully) nestled safely in a den.

Joy and sadness, excitement and sorrow, mixed in with a whole lot of mundane sameness … the daily roller coaster of farm life.

Meet Mazy - the newest addition to our family.

Less than a year ago there were no animals on our new farm. Now we have ✌️ sweet kitties, 3 bunnies, ✌️ turkeys, 11 hens, 51 chickens and now Mazy, an American Bully from

She is calm, smart, playful and super snuggly.

She is already getting to know all of the farm animals, none of whom like her very much yet, but with time, I’m sure she’ll be accepted as part of the crew.

I used to suffer from ‘don’t even look at me or I might destroy you’ PMS. For about two weeks of every month I was angry, sad, explosive, tired and just plain nasty. I though that was just the way it was. My plight to bare as a menstruating woman.
