✨ Behind the Brand ✨

This week, we’re introducing you to Boou Bakery + Pet Shop, a local business creating homemade treats for our furry little friends 🐾 🐕

For Rebecca, it all started with her dog Brandie.

After adopting her Labrador rescue in 2015, she started paying closer attention to the ingredients in the treats she was buying and wasn’t happy with what she found. So, she decided to start making her own treats at home using healthier ingredients.

What started as small batches made in her parent’s kitchen while she was in college has grown into so much more. Today, Rebecca has a team of 4 helping her make our favourite Boou Bakery treats, along with owning a pet shop in her hometown of Conception Bay South.

One of Rebecca’s favourite parts of running Boou Bakery is the people she’s met along the way. She says they’re lucky to have such a kind and loyal community of customers who continue to support the business.

Boou Bakery has been part of the Urban Market family for over 4 years, and we’re proud to share their story with our community!

If your pups haven’t tried Boou Bakery yet, Rebecca recommends starting with the Cheeseburger Bones or Beef Chews, both are fan favourites 🐶

✨ Behind the Brand ✨

This week, we’re introducing you to Wild Lupin Studios, a local pottery studio whose story is all about taking a chance on something new and turning a lifelong love into something of her own.

Meet Paula, she started her pottery journey about five years ago after a little encouragement from a good friend led her to take lessons at the Craft Council of NL Clay Studio.

She had always been a collector of pottery, but never imagined she’d get the chance to make it herself. Once she got her hands on the clay, she was instantly hooked.

When her corporate career came to an end, she decided to take a leap and trade blouses and heels for sweats and muddy aprons. Four years later, Wild Lupin Studios is the result.

One of her proudest moments has been becoming a juried member of the Craft Council of NL as a potter, a milestone that makes her journey all the more special.

Wild Lupin Studios has been part of the Urban Market family since 2024, and we’re proud to have her work here in our store and to share a little more of her story with our community!
