Wild Things

Wild Things Bright blue gift shop celebrating local craftspeople and our beautiful province’s natural wonders. Across from the alt Hotel at 124 Water Street in downtown St.

John’s, NL 🇨🇦 Established in 1990, Wild Things celebrates the wilderness, wildlife, and peoples of Newfoundland, Labrador, and the rich North Atlantic located a few metres from our entranceway. We encourage citizen science and ask visitors to report any interesting wildlife sightings... especially whales. We sell David Snow's "North Atlantic Orcas" book and work to collect all available information about orca populations off our coast.

Did you know Ookpik is the traditional Inuktitut word for Snowy Owl? First made by indigenous artists in northern Quebec in the 60s, these little owl dolls became a quick cultural icon, and even served as major mascot for Montreal’s Expo ‘67!
We have 2 Ookpiks left in stock in-store!! Locally made by indigenous artists using leather and seal fur, these little owls make the perfect local gift to bring back with you from your Newfoundland travels!
Want a little Ookpik friend of your own? Drop in to Wild Things at 124 Water Street from 9-7 every day of the week, or shop online 24/7 at wildlands.com/wild-things to have one flown to your home!! 🦉 🦉 🦉
