New book for inspiration in my folklore material culture class, about to swatch for a new cast on, and latte art that’s getting better with time. Friday is the one day during the week I get to stay home alone, in the quiet, to work on things and it is blissful 🖤

Quiet study and knitting has become a time I long for. My by is almost finished, and I will be oh so happy to wear it, while also a little sad when it’s over. This project has been meditative and lovely, perfect for reading while knitting. The silky black Sandnes Alpakka is a pleasure to hold and to work with my hands.

I’ve been working on this project during an incredibly special time in my life, making it an accessory I will cherish for all my days. I’ve enjoyed it so much that more yarn is already on the way, ready to become another Sophie Hood for a dear friend.

While I am not one for New Year’s resolutions, there are many preparations needed for the coming weeks, and time home over the holidays has inspired me to be creative, contemplative, and tidy corners of our home long forgotten.

So here we are in a little corner crafted for the analog work of thinking, reading, writing, praying, and of course a little making 🖤 Naturally I will change this all around a silly amount of times before I’m happy with it.

Today I’m knitting the Valkyria Jumper by .sjosvard in black Plötulopi and making to do lists :)

I’ll be at the Bannerman Craft Market tonight selling these children’s pixie bonnets! Hand knit with Mereno wool, different sizes and colours available. I am sharing a table with my dear friend Suzanne who has hand made Waldorf toys, little gnomes and other cozy items. Please come down and support the last market of the year. My pal has done an amazing job creating a craft market that truly showcases local talent, with lattes and beer on tap. Best craft market, with the best community vibes 🖤

If you have been wanting to join our knitting club the next season is open for enrolment! This session will start Sunday April 27 and run until the end of August! Summer club will look a little different, days when the weather is not super we will meet at the studio on 100 Duckworth St. Otherwise we will be taking our knitting on the go! Hikes with knitting and tea, meetings on a sunny deck with coffee or a beer, picnics in the park with a project… you get the idea :) And as always I’m here to help with any teaching or questions you have along the way. This club is designed for knitters who are already confident in their knit stitch but are a little unsure of all that goes into sweater knitting. If you have any questions just message me here and I’ll be happy to give more info! P.S. This club tends to fill up fast, so don’t hesitate to sign up if you’ve been wanting to :)

I’ve had a craving for a cute cross stitch project for quite some time now. Inspired by the whimsical world has created. So yesterday the kids and I spent some time at the craft store, each picking a new craft to work on. This project feels nostalgic. I spent many hours stitching with my aunt as a child and I am reminded now why I loved it so. More witchy cross stitch content to come 🖤
