I grew these. Yep… 3 years I have been trying with zero results. These may or may not be the only ones blooming but I don’t care. I’m celebrating I didn’t give up and I’m going to enjoy these every moment.

I’ve always been obsessed with this little greenhouse. I put more white rocks down last week to make it pop.

Wow we got a lot of rain. We needed it. The last few years we have dry, extremely dry. I can’t recall a time we had 3 solid days of rain. Everything looks amazing, including my seedlings. I was a little worried they would be floating around but they look amazing. Now we need some sun. Unfortunately that is not in the forecast.

We are done for today. I started at 8’ish and it’s been non stop. Then I see what I did and wondered where my day went. I normally spend time planning where what goes and didn’t do that this winter so here we are. Some seedlings are still small and some are a little leggy but it will all be fine.

It’s been two hours and I’m overwhelmed by my lack of planning where s**t needs to go and what should be growing with what 😩 BUT it’s such a gorgeous day.

Peonies! I’ve a few of those around. When we purchased this property the previous owners shared with us that some of the peonies that planted came from his grandmothers place is Saskatchewan. Some of them being over 50 years old. Over the years that’s we have been here, we added a few more and I told myself to not buy any this summer.

Rose Nigella, also called Love in a Mist, has dainty multifaceted blossoms that open pastel pink, then deepen to an enchanting deep rose. The delicate flowers make charming petite bouquets. Once petals drop, blossoms are transformed into little fairy lanterns and the mature striped seed pods are among the prettiest of dried everlastings.
