On Sunday, August 23rd, step into a world of crystals, wandering travellers, artisans, ancient treasures and a little medieval mischief as Arcane Almaguin takes over the Cave for a Medieval Renaissance Fair!

🐙 Crack open an ancient geode with The Kraken
🏕️ Feast like a traveller at The Wanderer’s Outpost
💎 Explore the shoppe, exhibit, and local vendors/artisans (cash purchases throughout the village and in the shoppe)
🎭 And plenty of magic, community & adventure throughout the day!

Costumes are VERY much encouraged, so dust off your cloaks, armour, faerie wings and finest whimsical attire and come join the realm ✨🧚🏻‍♀️

🪨 Another wonder from inside the exhibit...

Banded Iron Formation is more than just a striking pattern of stone. Its distinctive layers began forming billions of years ago, when iron dissolved in Earth’s ancient oceans reacted with oxygen, creating iron oxides that settled into layers over immense stretches of time. Today, those bands preserve evidence of some of the dramatic changes that helped shape our planet and its atmosphere.

Banded iron can be found locally in Ontario. Here at Crystal Cave, we dig them right out of the ground ourselves and have them for sale in the shoppe, as well as on display in the exhibit! 🌎✨

Their mission? Protecting the realm, guarding their humans, and fending off bad dreams and negative vibes ✨ Keep one beside your bed to stand watch while you sleep, or give them a special perch where they can keep a watchful eye over your kingdom.

Hackmanite (Ontario, Canada) 💜

Hackmanite is one of nature's most fascinating minerals. Found right here in Ontario, Canada, it displays a rare phenomenon called tenebrescence, allowing the stone to change colour when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light.

After being exposed to UV light, Hackmanite temporarily holds its vibrant colour before gradually fading back to its original appearance. This remarkable ability makes every demonstration feel a little like magic, showcasing one of the Earth's most extraordinary natural wonders.

This is just one of the many incredible minerals waiting to be discovered here at the Cave. Explore the Exhibit this summer with one of our knowledgeable and passionate tour guides and get the experience of a lifetime. 🩷 Today we say "see you later" to one of our own 🩷

Today is Kay's last day with us at Crystal Cave after five wonderful years. She is so much more than a team member and will always be a part of our little crystal family 💎✨

Her kindness, laughter, and presence will be greatly missed! 🩷

While we're sad to see her go, we're so excited for everything that lies ahead. We know her future is bright and filled with new adventures, wonderful opportunities, and well-deserved success ✨
