Looking for a mechanically inclined individual to join our maintenance team.
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, will be responsible to work with others and well as independently to inspect, maintain and repair the mechanical systems in the Processing and Waste Treatment plants.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
• Undertakes the regular inspection and maintenance of mechanical systems.
• Develops and carries out preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical systems.
• Performs planned and emergency repairs to these systems.
• Operates tools and equipment as required.
• Maintains required reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Millwright or Industrial Mechanic Certificate an asset but not required.
• Must be mechanically inclined.

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager the Power Engineer is responsible for the safe operation of the plant’s boiler, electrical generator, heating and air handling systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Operates and maintains the high-pressure boiler
- Operates and maintains the electrical heating boiler
- Operates and maintains the backup electrical generator
- Operates and maintains the building heating ventilation and air conditioning equipment
- Assists the maintenance of boiler equipment
- Maintains required reports, daily log and reading sheets
- Performs appropriate chemical tests on boiler water
- Interacts with contract personnel and companies to ensure repair and maintenance of
boiler equipment and auxiliaries and feedwater
- Follows all housekeeping policies according to good manufacturing practices
- Performs such other duties as may be required

QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or certificate in Electronic Control and Instrumentation from community college or trade school (or equivalent combination of education and training)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Good writing, communication, and math skills
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and correct situations
- Computer literacy required and familiarity with PC based Windows operating systems
- Experience with programming and troubleshooting of PLC’s
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and applications
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints

-Performs daily sanitation activities throughout processing areas that are not assigned to shift sanitation personnel; assists the Plant Sanitarian
-Ensures the product is not jeopardized by sanitation activities
-Works closely with the Plant Sanitarian to identify problem areas with regards to sanitation
-Aids the Plant Sanitarian in training all employees in sanitation procedures and chemical handling practices
-Other duties as required

Experience:
-Sanitation experiences an asset. Knowledgeable in the safe handling of chemicals and sanitation procedures.
-Food processing experience desirable.
-Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), food safety and quality systems such as HACCP and ISO an asset.

Skills:
-Highly organized with the ability to work within a tight schedule while maintaining proficiency, accuracy and meeting department goals, priorities and deadlines.
-Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
-Able to take responsibility for actions
-Cost efficient use of company materials and resources

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, inspects, maintains and repairs the mechanical systems in the Processing and Waste Treatment plants. 40 hours per week but may require periodic nights and/or after hours on call.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Undertakes the regular inspection and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Develops and carries out preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical systems.
- Performs planned and emergency repairs to these systems.
- Operates tools and equipment as required.
- Maintains required reports.
- Interacts with contract personnel or companies to ensure repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Performs such other duties as may be required.
- Inform other employees of unsafe working and operating practices and report any action sited to supervisor if not corrected immediately.
- Perform any duty assigned including plant clean-up, housekeeping or operation of any area required.

- Available for call-in after hours.
