We have a new plant of the week to start off the weekend! This "Little Lemon" Goldenrod is a sweet, cultivated dwarf variety, considered a "polite" goldenrod in that it doesn't spread as vigorously as native varieties, making it more suitable for smaller gardens. It's still perennial to our zone (comes back every year), drought tolerant, and loved by pollinators! 🐝🦋

We've gotten new stock of tropical plants in! One fabulous highlight is the the ZZ Oscura... It’s a hardy plant with deep purple, almost black leaves. It can adapt from bright to lower light and can go 3-4 weeks or more without watering, making it an extremely easy to care for plant! Other fun choices are banana plants, aloe vera, and venus fly traps... Come take a look!

Despite the heat, these flowers (and bees) are flourishing happily! 🐝🪻

Agastache 'Blue Fortune' is a variety of Anise Hyssop/Licorice Mint that has tall spikes of violet-blue flowers that bloom mid- to late-summer. The foliage of this plant has a fantastic licorice-mint fragrance which the deer hate but the pollinators love! Agastache is a great choice for full sun, hot, and drought-prone areas, can tolerate partial shade, and likes well-drained soil. It is hardy to Zone 4 and can get to 30" tall x 24" wide... How beautiful!

🫐 Supporting local farms is as easy (and delicious!) as buying the freshest in-season produce, and here at Spencer's , we want to be part of that! We're still taking pre-orders for 5lb boxes of wild NS blueberries from Millen Farms (), which will arrive next Thursday August 13 in the late afternoon. We'll have them available all day on Friday the 14th before freezing the remainder, and we'll have some extras available for those who haven't ordered.
