Finally! 🤣 I got the cherry pitter. You guys have been sliding into my DMs for years telling me to get one. Here is my review for anyone considering one:

PROS 👍
- WAY faster than pitting them one by one

- Can pit both large cherries or small cherries

- Felt ergonomic and easy to use (once I figured it out)

- Affordable at only $17.99 & accessible (Canadian Tire)

- Stores in the “lock” position; compact storage & lightweight

CONS 👎
- Some cherries were too small and would go right through the tray, even when using the small cherry side

- Still had to manually remove the pit one by one after it was pushed through

- Took around 5% of the flesh of the cherry with the pit

- Hard to clean

Overall, for the amount of time saved and how much less my body hurts compared to the stainless steel straw method (used to get sore and stiff neck/shoulders and back), I have to say..: it’s definitely worth it!

Thanks for watching ☺️

Omgosh what the heck Julianna 🤦🏻‍♀️🤭 I have forgotten to announce our seasonal collection for this month🤣 Its only the 24th so although I may be late, I didn’t totally miss it 😬

Our current seasonal collection is my personal favourite and will be featured throughout July and August because I love it THAT much! It’s called our “Happy Hour” collection inspired by summer cocktails 🍹 All alcohol-free, but full on flavour!

🥥 Piña Colada: creamy coconut dark chocolate with chewy organic pineapple tidbits and raw shredded coconut

🍊Sangria: a fruity fiesta of pomegranate, grapefruit, and orange

🥃Old Fashioned: Bourbon vanilla, bitter cacao powder, orange, and sour cherry garnish

🍋‍🟩Mojito: fresh muddled mint & zesty lime

As always, $3 from our Happy Hour collection is donated to the YMCA of Saskatoon summer camps supporting accessible programs for the youth in our community!

Do you know Saskatoon’s heritage? Today, the Key to Cultural Heritage would like to spotlight the living heritage of Saskatoon’s Roxy Theatre!

The Roxy Theatre, located in the Riversdale neighbourhood, was built in 1930 and is a great example of the Spanish Villa style of architecture. The Roxy came at a time when Vaudeville (a theatrical genre of variety entertainment, which often included skits, juggling, ballet, etc!) was dying out, causing fewer theatres to be built with functional stages.

The architecture:
🏛️ Designed by F.F. Le Maistre of Winnipeg, the Roxy Theatre’s facade features brown brick with recessed architectural detailing in a lighter brown brick.
🏛️ It has decorative-pattern bricklaying, limestone insets, and two curved limestone angle brackets at the upper corners.
🏛️ The overhanging tin roof imitates Spanish tiled roofs.

Find out more about the Roxy Theatre here on the saskatoon.ca heritage register!

Do you have a personal story or connection with the Roxy Theatre, buildings like it, or even other pieces of cultural heritage in Saskatchewan? You could win a prize just by sharing your story in our Key to Cultural Heritage campaign!

You can also help support Saskatchewan heritage by donating. This money goes directly to the Sask Heritage Coalition, who are working to keep heritage living.
