In a wee little basement in the home of Christina Marcano. Christina started in the clothing business over ten years ago when she co-founded an active wear company called Skyler Clothing. Skyler grew quickly and by 2008 they had three stores over two-hundred wholesale accounts and regular appearances on the Shopping Channel and then…the recession hit. The company started to spiral out of control a

nd as a last ditch effort Christina went to pitch her case on CBC’s the Dragons Den. The response was phenomenal. She received an outpouring of support but after a bit of soul searching she realized Skyler wasn’t her true dream. She closed Skyler down and headed back to her basement where she got to work building her true dream - Silver Icing. An amazing brand that offers comfy chic clothing that won’t break the bank. In 2013 Silver Icing launched and is now a thriving online shop with a network of independent stylists. As a young mom, Christina knew how important a work life balance is. She was tired of driving 2 hours a day back and forth from work. She loved being able to make her kids lunch or take them to a park on a sunny afternoon. Being a stay at home working mom was exactly what her family needed and it is from this experience that she committed to building a company that other moms and women could be a part of. Her greater vision is to provide women with the option to balance life and work by having the opportunity to work from home during hours that don’t disrupt the family lifestyle. Lyvia's Hoop & Holler Earrings Review: These are the perfect mini hoop to add to any outfit really! They are nice and lightweight and are a hook style so they're very easy to wear. I don't find them to bother my ears! They're made with little beads which creates the perfect dainty look!

Lyvia's Main Event Top Review: You guys, this top is so beautiful! I love the feel of this soft and stretchy waffle fabric, it's a great top to wear as we transition into spring. The neckline is beautiful and versatile and I love the non-functional button work down the sleeves. This top has a relaxed look and feel with long sleeves which gives off this cute and cozy look! I am wearing the size small and it fits in a nice and relaxed way.

Lyvia's Nothing But Comfort Capris Review: These might be my new favourite jean capris! I love the classic black and white denim, they will go with everything in my closet. I sized up from my typical 5 to a 7 for a little more room as the 5's were quite fitted.

Allison's Main Event Top Review: Honestly, I feel like this is possibly one of my favourite tops ever! I love that is can be worn off shoulder or as a boatneck! The waffle knit material is so light weight and cozy! Definitely not too warm though! And the button details - amazing! I am wearing the sample 1XL and I love the oversized fit, but I would size down to L. Although this is a size down from my
True XL, the 1XL is quite relaxed I prefer something a little more fitted.

Allison's Nothing But Comfort Capris Review: I love these capris. I am in the size 15 and love the fit. The material isn't too thick and they have great stretch! I love that these can be unrolled too! They have a raw edge hem when unrolled.

Kim's Main Event Top Review: I absolutely love waffle fabric!! This top is so light and soft, and this pink is my absolute favourite colour to wear! I love the versatility of the neckline in this one. It can be worn off the shoulder but I folded the sleeve up so it's not too long. My favourite way to wear it is a scoop or boatneck style! I am wearing the size small in this top and I love the fit.

Kim's Nothing But Comfort Capris Review: These capris are exactly as they sound, nothing but comfort! They are a lighter weight material with tons of stretch. I'm wearing my typical size 5 here but for the white, I will buy a size 7. I always size up one in white as I don't like a super tight look. These are a super versatile mid rise capri!

Allison's Warmth of Winter Scarf Review: I need these scarves in my life! They're super soft with a brushed kind of fuzzy feel. Disclaimer, they shed a little but there is a hack to this! It might sound a little unorthodox but you take your scarf, throw it in a big ziplock bag and put it in the freezer overnight. Give it a little shake and you're good to go. The feel of this scarf is amazing nonetheless and it's the perfect length and width to achieve that super cozy feel without feeling super thick and bulky!

Allison's In the Cold Touchscreen Gloves Review: We had these last year and I sadly missed out! These gloves are so cozy and warm and feature a detail on the tips to allow you to use your phone or iPad or any kind of touchscreen! They've got good stretch and are nice and cozy!

Kim's Blonde Hoodie Review: This has to be my favourite colour in Brunette the Label sweatshirts ever!! This soft pink is so cute, like I needed another reason to wear BTL every day!! Honestly though, I’m so happy we carry Brunette items! These are where it’s at for sweatshirts, as you know! These hoodies are non-oversized. These fit very true to size in my opinion. I am wearing the size S/M and I find it's the perfect fit. Not tight, not too loose. It fits perfect! If you are obsessed with oversized fits though feel free to size up. It wouldn't be fully oversized but a bit looser and comfier!

Kim's Blonde Cursive Sweatshirt Review: So this is the OG classic fit sweatshirt! How cute is the cursive script writing? I love it! I pretty and feminine, if that's your thing, you're going to love it! I swear every time I put on a new BTL sweatshirt it's gotten softer than the last. I also wear the S/M in these and they fit nice and comfortably. If you are in love with the oversized sweatshirts though, you could size up for a liiiittle bit of a looser fit.

The medium weight material drapes beautifully and I love that it’s also stretchy so I don’t feel restricted in my movements whatsoever. Also, POCKETS! Ellany's Weekday Pocket Blazer / Own It Pocket Floral Blazer Review: I already love my previous blazer so I’m very excited about this new colour and flowers! I like how the material moves freely when I run and dance. It’s so comfortable and stretchy too. I also LOVE that it has pockets for all my toys and treasures. This is going to be the clothing item that I want to wear every day and my mom will actually let me because she loves it just as much as I do. If you guys don't own these, get one now!!! They're a blazer but still casual enough to wear with jeans, which I love! I love them paired with a light denim like Sunset Denim here as it makes them look a little more summery! These blazers are the perfect fit. Dressy material but with a lot of stretch. Plus pockets. Christina's Country Girl Sweatshirt Review: There is a reason Brunette the Label is so popular. The quality and feel of these sweatshirts is consistently amazing. The Country Girl saying comes from a collaboration between Brunette and a local blogger from Langley BC, Monika Hibbs. She is epitomizes country in the chicest way possible. Now I am sure some of you will laugh at me, coming from a "city, but I definitely feel like that Country Girl deep down so this sweatshirt speaks right to my heart. I am wearing the S/M in these photos but I have both S/M and M/L in this core body. I find I like them both for different reasons. I personally feel like the S/M looks a bit better but I love the slightly slouchier feel of the M/L.

Hayley's Country Girl Sweatshirt Review: My girls love their BTL sweatshirts. They are a very easy piece to throw on and although a higher price point, they last!! So they are totally worth it. They don't really have any stretch so I tend to size up and roll the sleeves for a bit if they are too long. They wash up amazing and don't shrink! They also don't pill. I love the look and how easy it is for my girls to look together with these super cute sweatshirts.

Kim's Let's Kick It Sneakers Review (White, Camo): Seriously, this goes for both Let's Kick It and Comfort Kicks, these are one of my favourite casual sneakers. They're lightweight, so easy to wear as the laces are faux and the back is stretchy, the inner sole in cushioned and they literally go with pretty much any casual outfit. These are true to size. I have always bought and worn the size 8's.

Allison's Effervescent Jumpsuit Review: Ummm, holy moly. I'm not typically a jumpsuit type of person, but I NEED this in my life! The material is super stretchy and this is SO comfortable! The fabric has sequins in it, but have no worries it's not scratchy at all! The wide legs are absolutely stunning! I feel like a million bucks in this! I'm wearing an 2XL and love the fit!

It's non-sheer and is the perfect length to be a little bit more conservative! I am in the size small and it fits comfortably!

Kim's Effervescent Jumpsuit Review: A Silver Icing original!!! This jumpsuit went through extreme scrutiny and re-design until it was perfect and it's just that - perfect! If you think you've seen it before, you have. Jennica wore the sample piece to the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards back in October and it looked STUNNING on her. Your second thought is probably that the sequin top portion is itchy and uncomfortable under your arms. Wrong. It's a smoother, textured fabric that couldn't be more comfortable and stretchy. The draped scoop neckline is so unique and the rope straps are like elastics! I am wearing the size small here and it fits me amazingly.

Kim's Long Range Top Review: This is truly one of our best selling tops and it's because it is so darn easy to wear! These are essential layering pieces for this time of year to wear under vests, cardigans, jackets, sweaters, they can pretty much be worn on a daily basis!! They're soft, stretchy and made from organic cotton too. I am wearing a size medium here, a size up from my typical small and like this fit.
