I recently took part in a writing contest through Writing Battle . The challenge was to write a short story using only 250 words with the given prompts. There was over 1,700 submissions but mine is onto the finals!

I am excited to announce that I have signed on with Bluecurrent Publishing to publish my new book, Death's Final Five! I have dreamt that this day would come but was never sure it would. This is the first step to hopefully big things. They are a new publishing company, so to be asked to be one of their first novels to be published is an honor and I'm sure they'll do great things. Mehven. A story about a place somewhere between Heaven and Hell, a place where I probably belong. This one took me years to write because I started it shortly after my son was born and, in case you weren't aware, babies take up a lot of time. Mehven may seem different from my previous two books but it's really not. It's similar in a way that, like Seeing Red, I could let my imagination run wild because it took place in a fictional land. Sure, there were some restrictions because Mehven had rules that needed to be followed, but that created a bit of a challenge for me, which I enjoyed. Like with Seeing Red, I can see my skills as a writer improve even more. This is also the first book that I decided to hire a voice actor for and release as an audiobook, which was incredibly exciting for me as hearing something I created with my own mind and fingertips come to life was a surreal experience. Seeing Red was a wild ride. I loved the idea of doing dream sequences in the book because it allowed me to really let my imagination run wild and not be confined by the limitations of the real world. Coming up with ideas for dream worlds and what was going to happen in each dream made it feel like I was creating many different stories within one large story. A former co-worker of mind gave me the idea to write a trilogy because that will create more books sales. I was new to writing a gullible so of course I tried it. The first book, Seeing Red, revolved around the dreams. The second book, Seeing Red: White Noise, revolved around mental illness and seeing things that aren't there. The third book, Seeing Red: True Colors, again went back to the dream aspect. After completing the third book I combined them all into one. I am very proud of Seeing Red as I can basically watch myself grow as a writer as the story goes on. Check out Seeing Red with the link below!
