"To Trust or Not to Trust" was a pretty Islands Trust thick episode (11) of Isle of Views. It features Occifer Smeed (Sid Filkow) in an on going series of arrests being made of people violating Trust paint colour restrictions of the day. It also features the first time Drew Clarke and Paul Marcano met to discuss Mr. Clarke's 'Bust the Trust' Campaign of the mid 90s, before they both ran for the Trust later that year. Some great Salt Spring history and humour!

There is a double-edged sword to development versus the Islands Trust's 'No Land-Use Policy', here I illustrated in 1995 that perhaps vertical living would save the land with a more fully-developed and urbanized Ganges complete with Parkades... 2050. Relax, it is only a computer fantasy simulation but more fun later, when our Host Sid Filkow reviews the new Trust Board Game "Permit to Paradise" and Drew and I try our hand at playing it. Spoiler alert... You can't win.

Updating to version 3.0 - Salt Spring Isle of Views has been migrated to Facebook for the simple reason that Faceook is the premier digital archive for material meant to outlast any single individual's lifespan. As can be seen from the many people we have lost and yet who leave behind postings and valuable memories for those of us still resident on planet Earth. It seems expedient to use these free social platforms to preserve these time capsules of peoples' thoughts, dreams and transient infatuations. It is something to be appreciated as one of the more valuable aspects of our advancing digital technology, its reach and memory archive of this precious moment we live.
