It’s the last day of May, and the last day of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) Awareness Month, so I wanted to share some books with EDS representation.
Seeing your disability reflected in the pages of a book helps you feel less alone. It helps put words to what you’re feeling (and with something like EDS, that can be very hard to do!) and it can help spread awareness and understanding to people who don’t share your lived experience.
This is why representation matters. And why it’s important to diversify our bookshelves — to help us learn, grow, and become more empathetic and supportive people.
