Mercury Forging

Mercury Forging Derived from Canadian resources, Mercury Forging Knives and Metalwork are produced from nationally sourced products. All shipping is extra.

Handcrafted from basic materials and sculpted to shape, each piece is unique and custom in every way. Thank you for reaching out for more info about Mercury Forging knives, I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have and hopefully work towards making something unique and special to be proud of. If you are interested in having something made but not quite sure where to start, I have a dozen

s of general blade shape pics to choose from or feel free if you’re so inclined to draft up a rough sketch. If you can dream it, I will do my utmost to create it. Typical pricing is as follows- A basic Damascus knife with simple blade design, typically between 8-12” in length overall, without custom etching would be around $350. From there it’s $25-35 for custom etching on the blade and $35-$50 for composite or intricate handles. We would work together to design the blade you want and I would send a sketch with all the detail for you to approve. If you like the design and agree to move forward then I would accept a $50 deposit and get started. Typical turnaround after deposit is 2-3 weeks, though seasonal fluctuations may cause minor delays. After work has commenced I will routinely send update progresses pics for you to see your vision become a functional work of art. All of my blades can function as either show blades or daily tools and many function as both. Knowing how your blade will be used will greatly help throughout the design process as well as assist me in treating and honing it for best performance. Lastly, I would like to mention that unfortunately I am not practiced enough to produce quality leather sheaths at this time. I understand this might be an issue for some but I will absolutely work with you to source the best suitable option. That being said, I am able to produce Kydex sheaths at a cost of $35 - $50 each if requested. Thank you again for your interest in Mercury Forging and I look forward to hearing from you in the future.

Cheers from the forge,

Today I got to present this beautiful custom hunting knife for a slightly belated Father’s Day gift for a good friend of mine.

Made from one of the best Stainless Steels on the market and my absolute favourite to work with, Nitro-V has the hardness of a high carbon steel with stainless properties suited for any environment. The handle is finely sculpted from Royal Red dyed Silver Maple and perfectly weight balanced with embedded brass.

Bringing it all together is an expertly hand crafted sheath, beautifully moulded to retain its blade while traversing any terrain.

Cheers from the forge,

Today concluded another highly challenging and rewarding project. Making the various components for a quality blade fit together with a high degree of precision can be taxing on a good day but when the client wants the matching set it takes production to a different level. I know these knives will span generations, that in itself makes them worth every minute of bench time.

Sending out a big thanks to my leathersmith counterpart Rob at Ranch D Leatherworks for another beautiful set of skins, fantastic work as always.

Cheers’
