All books are blank and are perfect for drawing, journalling, and capturing your life and passions. Visit me at arts & crafts shows in the Niagara Region or contact me to set an appointment. Show schedules and book details are on my site at http://www.story-works.ca

I’ve been taking chances this year. Applying to the Cabbagetown Art & Craft Show is one of them. This revered event, situated in a charming park in the most charming of old neighbourhoods, has been on my wish list for ages. In the spirit of living my life fully, I made the leap: I filled out all the forms, clicked “send”, and then crossed my fingers and toes. And here we are! At long last I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be a part of all the artisan love this coming September! How wonderful is that?!

My first show of the year is fast approaching! Come out to the Grimsby Public Library & Art Gallery, this Saturday, April 25, for the Wayzgoose Book Art Fair. This one-day, annual gathering of bookbinders, letter press artists, paper-makers, print-makers, engravers, and suppliers is a true highlight for me and a sweet piece of bibliophile heaven!

ACCEPTED!!!
I’m beyond thrilled to announce that I’ve been accepted into the 2026 Muskoka Arts & Crafts summer show, running July 17-19. This will be my first time exhibiting and selling at this gathering of 200 accomplished artists and artisans, and I’m already tingling from excitement! Located in Bracebridge, in the heart of Ontario’s coveted cottage country, this remarkable show has been running since 1962. I am honoured to be a part of it.

Sonnet XIV: If Thou Must Love Me

If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love’s sake only. Do not say
“I love her for her smile—her look—her way
Of speaking gently,—for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of pleasant ease on such a day” -
For these things in themselves, Beloved, may
Be changed, or change for thee,—and love, so wrought,
May be unwrought so. Neither love me for
Thine own dear pity’s wiping my cheeks dry, -
A creature might forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby!
But love me for love’s sake, that evermore
Thou may’st love on, through love’s eternity.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning

“For me it was important to be alone; solitude was a prerequisite to being openly and joyfully susceptible and responsive to the world of leaves, light, birdsong, flowers, flowing water.”

2025 was the year I came alive again. I began to explore my world, and finally there were new experiences and adventures after having been in limbo for far too long. There was much laughter. There were fascinating conversations and moments of deep camaraderie. There was delicious stillness and rest. I created beautiful memories. My brow began to unfurrow and my breathing deepened. I started stretching muscles, physical and metaphorical, that had been left unused for far too long. I have returned to myself after years of cocooning, and the energy that courses through me is filled with purpose. Determination and resilience urge me forward. New habits and patterns are drawing the blueprint for the months to come. And what a year it will be!
I intend for 2026 to be one of connection and deepening relationships with you. From the beginning, I have felt strongly about making my business one of inclusion. To this end, you will be able to find me and my handcrafted notebooks at more shows and more shops. My online presence will include regular updates, not only of products but of bookish things. I’ll be expanding my creations, offering you more paper love. And I’ll be learning some new skills as well as honing current ones. Perhaps there’ll be a workshop or two with you along the way. Understandably, life is what happens when you’re making other plans; but the way forward is at last clear to me. I believe that any diversion will still bring me to the same destination—to you—regardless of the route.
Here’s to 2026! Onwards!

Boxing Day is one of my most favourite days of the year. The hustle has officially ended—full stop. The hoopla is on pause. Today is for calm, rest, and togetherness. It will definitely include a nap. My dearest hearts are here with me, settling in to their own coziness. Perfection. Tomorrow the socializing and work will start up again; but for now, we will revel in our den of contentment. The outside world can wait for one more day.
