Located in the West Kootenay mountainous region of British Columbia, Canada lies a skiing mecca--Red Mountain. Rich in history, at the turn of the century the historical town of Rossland was booming with prospectors in search of Gold. The Gold Rush of 1890's transformed the town into a bustling city. When the gold dried up, so did the town, just leaving the remnants of many buildings in its wake.

Those buildings that survived are fortunate to house the eclectic mix of businesses, and the Gold Rush bookstore is one of them. Independent bookstores; the heart of a community where tourists and locals alike share a passion for books, information and knowledge. The Gold Rush Bookstore is a place to meet, to promote local authors, while showing economic support in our small mountain town community of Rossland. By offering an array of new books from a cross section of best-selling genres, local authors, and books unique to the Kootenays, we will maintain a strong local community presence. For the bargain shoppers, a gently used book collection is available for a discounted price. The Gold Rush Bookstore, a step back in time where time slows down, where you can sip a hot beverage--DAVIDsTEA, coffee or a hot chocolate--not feel rushed, and all the while show your support for our local economy and the many entrepreneurs that call the Mountain Kingdom…home.
