This is the post I’ve been dreading as it hurts my heart, but is the right choice. We did try to postpone until September, and taking in a culmination of a ton of hard choices and info, to make this decision, our market will just have to wait until next May! I have the best vendors, who have been so supportive and understanding! The main big factors are that
A. Health policies are changing daily, weekly, monthly, and fall brings so much unknown and worry for everyone.
B. Our volunteers are primarily seniors, I worry about their heath, my vendors health and my immune-compromised family. T1D is at risk and I have 2 at home.
C. I won’t cut my vendors by more than half to fit indoor event requirements. Who do I keep and who do I cancel when they’ve all secured their spots? They are all equally important.
Covid is a blip in our market life. In the grand scheme of things, everyone’s health and safety are more important right now than our market and the market can wait. I know our world has changed forever. Some health policies are here to stay - which is good, but I’m hoping by May 2021, whatever remains, will be part of a way of life, routine and not constantly changing. Easier for community events to navigate and host. Though I was secretly excited for a fall market. I love fall. 😉
Looking forward to the future, please, mark your calendars for Saturday, May 22, 2021, to come help support all my amazing vendors and send kids to the T1D summer kids camp.
We are taking names of anyone who is attending D-Camp next year (within a 100km radius of Rossburn), so if you know anyone, please send them our way so we can arrange camp refunds after our market or give them info about camp. ❤️
If you would like to be added to our waiting list of vendors, please message me.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
❤️ Kel
