In creating our truly Earth friendly business, we hope to help people and planet live in harmony. We've been hand crafting organic cotton handkerchiefs since 1996. Our company name was Hankettes up until 2012. Our original company logo for Hankettes had the word sustainablilty in it. Back in 1996 almost nobody knew what the word meant! Over the last 20 years, our product line has expanded far beyo
nd handkerchiefs. It now includes Goats milk soaps & shampoo bars, essential oils, moisturizing body oils, lip balms, reusable cosmetic squares, coffee filters, & table napkins, to name a few. Everything is still hand crafted and locally made. All our botanically based products have a complete ingredients list. We do not use preservatives, which means our products are perishable - just like healthy food is! Since 1996, we've been and continue to be, a home based business. We have a large semi-trailer on our farm which serves as our workshop. It's where we do all the cutting, sewing, and packaging. The majority of our our body care products are made for us by a friend at her home workshop, using our recipes. Another friend makes our soaps, deodorant, and some of our other products. We are excited to be working very closely with the Sunshine Coast Wildlife Project, an AWESOME local organization whose mandate is to preserve local species and habitats at risk. In partnership with them, we are co-creating the "Wildlife Walkway" on our farm. We stock all their various wildlife houses for mason bees, bats, and owls. We also have some of their educational signage and literature. Also on our farm, we are working on creating pollinator gardens, a wildflower meadow, and doing pond shoreline restoration. All of this is to create a first hand experience for visitors to be able to see and identify indigenous plant and wildlife species. We now have two Eco-Freako locations! The one on our farm is "The World's Tiniest Eco Department Store", and the other is in the "downtown" core of the village of Roberts Creek BC, Canada. Our village shop, in addition to the products we create, showcases over 20 local artists. Our philosophy:
