Pop Top Airtight Water Submersion Dunk Test
Here’s the truth: A well-made child-resistant pop-top can be highly Airtight — but not all pop-tops are created equal.
Airtight performance comes down to engineering and consistency: cap fit, rim geometry, material choice, and tight manufacturing tolerances. When those are dialed in, pop-tops can deliver strong seal.
A Water Submersion Test (or “Dunk Test”) is a simple, reliable, and highly visual way to check airtightness. By submerging closed pop top in water tank, signs of air bubbling indicate air escaping from a leak caused by poor design tolerance specs and/or inconsistent manufacturing quality control.
