This is our Big announcement and medicine song/video I had the opportunity to be involved in as a writer and provide creative input to for the video with the guidance and direction of Zoey Roy as lead artist as part of her national medicine songs project. A big Pinawmiya to kokums Annie Brass and Brenda Dubois for sharing the creative space with me for us all to create this anthem for our young people. And my family for participating in the video and in the launch tonight. We want our youth to feel inspired and motivated to enjoy life and know they are protected with medicines. Songs are medicine too. Please share and hope you enjoy!❤️❤️❤️🦬🔥🔥🔥

Some winter reading. Pretty informative about star quilts and why we make them and how they have become important symbols of community.

Our warriors were our women. We have always lived the life the way we needed to, we adapted.

Running Eagle or Brown Weasel Woman, a female member of the Piegan/Blackfeet tribe, was born in the late 1700s. She became a hunter and warrior early in her life when the death of her parents made her head of her family. In order to provide for her lodge, she asked a widow to care for her young siblings while she hunted for food and furs. A courageous warrior, she fought enemy tribes and was known for stealing horses from them. She became a famous Blackfeet woman, often remembered for her vision quest to a unique waterfall in northern Montana, now part of Glacier National Park. Read more about her today in this Montana Historical Society essay: https://mhs.mt.gov/Portals/11/education/bios/AM_RunningEagle.pdf

Working on a rush order - Starblanket. And this centre star is just perfection. Well to my eyes, the centre points meet so well. I’m feeling pretty proud of myself. Usually don’t like bragging lol, but it’s been over 20 years of sewing to get to this point of feeling like a pro.

Wow! This was a king size star
Blanket for a special customer. Shipped all the way to Quebec! I loved working with these colors of blue and yellow and the dots just popped. It was just over 100” x 100” and if I was taller the pic would have been straighter. ❤️🦬
