Cobb Swanson Music

Cobb Swanson Music Are you looking for music for a piano lesson? Do you need sheet music for a wedding, a graduation or a funeral? We sell print music for all your needs! and more.

Over 20 years ago, Cobb Swanson Music was formed by two local Regina women, Rosemary Cobb and Dianne Swanson. Rosemary, with 15 years of piano teaching experience and Dianne, with a recently completed Bachelor of Administration degree combined their strengths in teaching and business and opened a small sheet music store. As business prospered and the shelves became filled with print music, the 500

square feet in the original store became too crowded. The search was on for a new location. The Cathedral Village District of Regina , filled with unique shops and services, welcomed them to their community in 1999 where they continue to supply Regina and Southern Saskatchewan with print music for lessons for all instruments and a wide variety of styles for the amateur musician from folk to rock to jazz. Dianne Retired on Nov 31th and the store closed.

I visited Mata Gallery on Broad street today. Formerly called Mysteria, it used to be a great go-to local business on 13th Avenue.
Mata Gallery is closing this weekend. Another local business is shutting its doors. Think about where you shop, and recognize that it is local business that supports many community initiatives.

Please support local business... if you don't, wonderful and unique stores will disappear. Please make this a New Year's Resolution!
I plan to spend my dollars locally in 2017. Dianne Swanson

Have you wondered where all the leftover stock has gone?

7 boxes of books donated to Briercrest College
3 boxes of books donated to the SASK Registered music teachers association
2 boxes of books to Value Village (mostly Metal Guitar!)
5 boxes of books to BLUME Haiti on the recommendation of Joel MacDonald of the Conservatory. Google BLUME and find out about this wonderful music ed program in Haiti.

Leftover Syllabi were given to the Conservatory of Performing Arts
I am taking very easy choral music to the Separate School Board.

Lots of odds and ends and old, old music was recycled.

I brought home expensive music - a lot of imports from Alphonse Leduc and other European publishers - to sell in the next two years over Amazon.

I have donated storage units to Christ Lutheran Church and to LMP Teaching Connections, an internet business catering to home schooling families.

i have donated desks and chairs and tables to Cecilian Concert Series.

Acrylic display units were taken to Alsort Fixtures to be resold to other businesses.

Have we been busy? YES. But everything found a good home and for that I am grateful.
