Experiments in Gelli Plate Printing
With Wilma Brooks Hughes
Date: June 14
Time: 1 PM – 5 PM
Instructor: Wilma Brooks Hughes
Join us June 14th from 1 PM – 5 PM for an afternoon of creative play and exploration with Gelli plate printing!
Using a 5x7 Gelli Arts plate, Wilma will guide students through a variety of techniques, textures, mark-making methods, layering, and experimental printing approaches. This class is perfect for beginners as well as experienced mixed media artists looking to expand their creative toolbox.
Students will spend the afternoon creating unique printed papers while learning:
- Basic Gelli plate techniques
- Brayering and paint application
- Texture and mark making
- Layering and experimental printing
- Ideas for using your finished papers in future projects
Please note: this class focuses on creating printed papers only — not finished projects. Wilma will also share inspiration and ideas for how to use your papers afterward in journals, cards, mixed media, collage, scrapbook layouts, and more.
