In a wee little basement in the home of Christina Marcano. Christina started in the clothing business over ten years ago when she co-founded an active wear company called Skyler Clothing. Skyler grew quickly and by 2008 they had three stores over two-hundred wholesale accounts and regular appearances on the Shopping Channel and then…the recession hit. The company started to spiral out of control a

nd as a last ditch effort Christina went to pitch her case on CBC’s the Dragons Den. The response was phenomenal. She received an outpouring of support but after a bit of soul searching she realized Skyler wasn’t her true dream. She closed Skyler down and headed back to her basement where she got to work building her true dream - Silver Icing. An amazing brand that offers comfy chic clothing that won’t break the bank. In 2013 Silver Icing launched and is now a thriving online shop with a network of independent stylists. As a young mom, Christina knew how important a work life balance is. She was tired of driving 2 hours a day back and forth from work. She loved being able to make her kids lunch or take them to a park on a sunny afternoon. Being a stay at home working mom was exactly what her family needed and it is from this experience that she committed to building a company that other moms and women could be a part of. Her greater vision is to provide women with the option to balance life and work by having the opportunity to work from home during hours that don’t disrupt the family lifestyle. Becoming an Online Styilst does just that. It is the best of both worlds, everything is online so you can commit as much or as little as you like. Christina's Undercover Sneakers Review: Oh my gosh, I am so excited these sneakers are going up tomorrow, I can't wait for you guys to get these! The dark camo is so unique, unlike the majority of camo we've seen in a while. The dark shades of green, grey and black create a more subtle, dark looking camo print that I adore. They feature a basic lace-up closure and are comfortable and lightweight. I typically wear an 8.5-9 but these sample size 8's practically fit me. I will go with an 8.5 in these! If you're in between sizes, feel free to size down.

Kim's Undercover Sneakers Review: I love these sneaks!! The first thing to mention though is they do fit a bit large. I am wearing my typical size 8 and they are a bit too loose. I will size down to a 7.5 for the perfect fit for me. They're lightweight and easy to walk in with a classic lace closure. Love these!!

Kim's Blonde Oversized Sweatshirt Review: I am wearing the size XS/S in the oversized BTL sweatshirt and let me tell you - if you are a new stylist or just simply don't own one of these, you must jump on this opportunity! We LIVE IN THESE!!!! BTL does not typically go on sale - especially the oversized sweatshirts so now is the time to discover one of my favourite items. They are simply put, AMAZING! Words can't describe how comfortable these oversized sweatshirts are. Perfect for lounging in or for going out into the world! When paired with a nice jean and sneakers, you've pretty much created my favourite outfit. I could wear it every day. We definitely suggest sizing down in these unless you want a super big, oversized fit.

"One of our SI Sisters, Ashley Maida, went through a scary and shocking situation last night when her youngest daughter went into Diabetic Acidketoacidosis. Diabetes is a disease that affects too many and juvenile diabetes is something no child should have to go through. For those of you that are new to SI, Diabetes is something that a number of our stylists have to live with, either themselves or through their children and finding a cure is something we at Silver Icing have supported over the years.

In 2017, we designed a necklace in support of Tanya Souter and her daughter Sasha. Similar to Ashley's situation, Tanya found out that Sasha had juvenile diabetes through a scary and unexpected episode of Diabetic Acidketoacidosis. Tanya is an incredibly strong individual and through her heartfelt story, we created the Sasha necklace of which $10 of every necklace has been donated to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation.

Ashley has been a part of our community since 2016 and today Ashley needs us. From now until October 31, 2019, we will be redirecting the $10 donation from the purchase of any Sasha necklace and giving it directly to Ashley and her family to help assist them through the start of this life-changing diagnosis.

This is a disease that never ends and the emotionally exhausting toll it takes on the people and families that are afflicted with it is something we hope will one day be a thing of the past."
