Well we will be exhibiting in our first trade show the BC Northern Toys Expo this weekend. We will have some used and brand new American Girl dolls as well as some vintage Barbie collectables, AG playsets and 18 inch doll size clothing for sale. If you have an interest in American Girl and want to collect, the best way to get informed and interactive (other than visiting americangirl.com online) is to join some of the great facebook groups out there. They are mostly all adult collectors or people who collect along with their kids and there is always lots to see and do. There are only a few Canadian based groups but even the US based groups are a great source of inspiration. Here are some of the groups I am a member of.

After starting collecting in September of 2022 at the end of January 2023 just 5 months later I posted my yearbook photo for class of 2022. I had 45 dolls at this point. A year later my collection was very close to 100 dolls, but I did not do a yearbook photo as I plan to let some of them go and do you know how much work it would be to get all the dolls out of their boxes and displayed together. Impossible.

one of my first fall displays I made in October 2022 which was only a month after I started collecting American Girl. At that time I already had about 20 dolls and was starting to figure out how facebook marketplace worked. I have not had as much time as I would like to make displays anymore but hope to get back to it soon.

This was one of my first American Girl lots that I found on facebook. The asking price was so reasonable but the shipping cost twice as much as the stuff when coming from Quebec. But this was one of my first big acquisitions and included an old Samantha, a first edition Josefina and a very early edition Addy as well as the assorted other furniture pieces and outfits.

I belong to several private facebook groups that are all about American Girl dolls and collectables and I love interacting with other collectors and buying and selling this way. One of the things I really enjoy is when some of the talented seamstresses in our group post their creations. Here is one I love that tuned Blair into a private investigator. Anyone read Nancy Drew books when they were young? I read lots of them.

It's going to take a while before I figure out what to post on here. Eventually there will be a business to go along with this page but that is still in the future. Here is a photo of my Jess in her Wednesday dress made by Diane Gingras that I placed on top of a different background. I thought it turned out pretty well.
