National Caesar Day takes a bow in the middle of May every year in honour of the cocktail loved by Canadians (the Thursday before Victoria Day). In fact, the Caesar became Canada’s national drink when Parliament made it official.
It’s important to note that a Caesar is not a Bloody Mary. The clam juice makes the difference here. A basic Caesar includes vodka, celery salt, hot sauce, ground pepper, Clamato, Worcestershire sauce, a lime wedge, and a celery stalk.
Fun Facts:
• Launch: National Caesar Day was first launched in 2015.
• Origin: The drink was invented in 1969 by bartender Walter Chell in Calgary.
