I constantly live in fear of a "hijab police" telling me how I am wearing my hijab wrong.

I am a proud hijabi and love wearing hijab. But I am always in fear that a someone will tell me that hijab is not appropriate with the "western clothes" I wear, or how dare I show the shape of my calf while wearing hijab, or why I even bother wearing a hijab if it starts to slide off at the end of my work day!?!

I am scared of being judged and feel other hijabis are always judging me.

I realize, that's what we muslim women have done to ourselves and each other. Forcing our perception of hijab on someone else.

When we see a hijabi, we should see the conscious sacrifice she is making everyday. She is constantly choosing to minimizing her wants and desires, and risking her well being. There will be prejudice against her, and may even face verbal and physical abuse because of her hijab. But she is putting God first, and proudly displaying her faith in God.

That is what we need to appreciate and celebrate!!
