New machine and first finish!
I got a new machine and then promptly had one kid’s trip and the other’s grad to deal with.
Finally sat down and got it running last night in order to make a ren faire belt with pockets for a kiddo.
No pattern but impressed with how the TechSew worked through the layers, my Janome can do leather but not that number of layers (especially the last minute dart fold in the back once belt was loaded and the garment leather stretched.
Interested to see what is next….

Away for work this week but got a lovely picture from Caitlyn of her finished quilt! A much younger Caitlyn used to come in and help her quilter grandmother longarm (getting over her trepidation with that process). Well, the bug bit and Caitlyn’s parents brought her in the night before the pop up to pick fabrics for her to make a baby quilt for a friend.
Colour palette was matched and mission accomplished!
A lovely finish Caitlyn gave me permission to share proudly!

Our pop up went well, thanks to all who chose fabric fondling over the first summer weekend weather of the year!
That is it until September for pop ups we figure, however, I am around if you need anything - shoot me a message. Still no regular retail hours as my work schedule involves travel and is unpredictable.
Today’s post is a PSA - I bought 2 of these bad boys at Princess Auto, on sale for 20 bucks each. Really because they are cute but hey, maybe they can bring order to creative chaos?
Can’t hurt to try!

A night spent folding fat quarters while feeding/facilitating a nice big teenager hangout since youngest is home from school.
More folding to do!
Been ages since I cut everything in the store and filled the bins, between the bins and my “to fold” stack we are around 80%!
Come see Karen and I at the store today after soccer, at noon, for day 2, today 12-3!

So the pop up is going to feature fat quarters, I have cut all the batiks and will be cutting more cotton.
Pricing will be
$4 each, 10 fq for $35 or 25 fq for $80
No hst as LCQ neither claims nor collects hst
I may add in more things, stay tuned.

I can’t knit, or crochet…but I have several zombie apocalypse skills I really hope I don’t have to use “for real” ever.
But I am worried about the neighbours.
I have called 911 for neighbours before a few time (it has seemingly all worked out now), can’t really do that now.
But
Silence is complicity at the end of the day, as I was reminded in catching up on my IG feeds.
And this is not OK
