The Mummies of Guanajuato, Mexico are a number of naturally mummified bodies interred during a cholera outbreak in 1833. The human bodies appear to have been disinterred between 1870 and 1958. During that time, a local tax was in place requiring a fee to be paid for "perpetual" burial. Some bodies for which the tax was not paid were disinterred and found in a perfectly and naturally mummified state.

During her career in the search and rescue division of the Mexican Navy, Frida the rescue dog assisted first responders in major disasters in Haiti and Ecuador, and across Mexico. Even in retirement, she continued her service by training other dogs before she died on November 15, 2022. On November 24, 2022, the Navy held a memorial service attended by Frida’s human and canine colleagues. Her urn was placed in the base of her statue at Naval headquarters, serving as a monument to her memory.

Famadihana, or "Dancing with the dead" is a burial tradition in Madagascar. The Malagasy people open the tombs of their dead every few years, rewrap them in fresh burial clothes, and perform a dance near the tomb while music plays all around. This ritual is translated as "turning of the bones" and is meant to speed up decomposition and push the spirit of the dead toward the afterlife.

The Sedlec Ossuary is a Roman Catholic chapel, located beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints in the Czech Republic. This ossuary contains the bones of between 40,000 and 70,000 individuals -- some of them have been used to make a coat of arms, while others are artfully arranged into a chandelier constructed from (at least) one of every bone in the human body.

Fred Baur had the ingenious idea to stack Pringles. He came up with the idea while working as a Food Storage Technician. Before his passing, he requested his ashes be stored inside a Pringles can when it came time. In 2008, his family split his remains between a traditional urn and the late inventor's greatest creation.

After Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert passed in 1861, she wore the mourning veil and some form of mourning dress up until her death in 1901. She never wore her Imperial State Crown again because it would have required her to take off her mourning veil.
