Many of them, especially the younger ones, are opting to read on portable devices such as e-readers, tablets, and even smartphones, and the short story is the perfect escapism-byte for their lunch break or while waiting for an appointment.
This is the perfect time to gain a following for your short fiction. But how to do that? With all the short story contests and anthologies inviting submissions, your story needs to be compelling, tight, well-written, and error-free to be chosen as a winner or finalist.
