🎣 First Day Back in the Saddle! 🎣

After some time away, it felt like the bull trout had forgotten every trick I ever taught them. Thankfully, it didn't take long to get things dialed in! The action was nonstop, and I honestly lost count of how many fish we hooked throughout the day.

This crew had one goal in mind: bring home dinner. Mission accomplished! A few quality fish came home, plenty more were released, and there were smiles all around.

Days like this are a great reminder of why we love spending time on the water. Beautiful scenery, hard-fighting fish, and good company. You've got to love Bull Trout Country!

Before we headed out on our week-long fishing adventure through the Cariboo and Thompson regions, my beautiful wife Melissa decided our fishing crew needed a little extra horsepower in the style department. So she whipped up these custom Metallica-inspired Pemberton Fish Finder hoodies... and let's just say they were impossible to miss from across the lake! 🤘🎣

Needless to say, the compliments came flying in almost as fast as the fish were hitting. We had people asking where they could get one, snapping photos, and giving us the horns from shore. Mission accomplished, Melissa! 😎

Sometimes you need to hit the reset button.

We pointed the truck north and disappeared into the Thompson-Okanagan and Cariboo for a week of fishing, fresh air, and some much-needed time away from the daily grind. We fished our butts off, soaked in some of the most beautiful scenery British Columbia has to offer, and connected with some absolute tanks of rainbow trout while chironomid fishing.

The memories were made, the batteries were recharged, and the fish definitely kept us honest.

Now it's time to trade the lake for the shop, the fishing rods for the work boots, and get back at it. The fun might be over for now, but the motivation tank is full and we're ready for another busy season ahead.

Top team leader for the Fish Finder crew, .mitchell has been out there absolutely soaking flies and putting a serious bend in the rods. Nothing beats that first-time fly angler feeling when the line tightens up, the reel starts screaming, and the fish launches into aerial displays like it’s auditioning for the Olympics. 🎣💦

Fly fishing on another level right here, ladies and gentlemen. From first cast to first fish, Mitchell’s been putting on clinics and turning rookies into fishy addicts in record time. Bent poles, big smiles, screaming reels, and fish cartwheeling across the lake… that’s what it’s all about. Come on out and let’s get those rods doubled over and the drag singing songs all day long. 🔥🐟

It’s been an absolutely crazy busy work week over here, and we’ve definitely been slacking a little on the socials… but for good reason. There’s been plenty of proud dad moments, quality family time, lots of happy vacationers, and of course… LOTS of fish hitting the net. 🎣🔥

Here’s just a few big smiles from today. The weather’s been beautiful, the scenery has been unreal, and the fishing has been flat-out fantastic. That’s what it’s all about, ladies and gentlemen.

Some days on the water just hit different… and today was one of them. Welcome to Bull Trout Country, where the action was absolutely nonstop. The boys were into fish like a wildfire — fish to the left, fish to the right, bent rods and big smiles all day long. Every fish was handled with care and released unharmed so they can keep growing bigger for the next adventure. That’s how we do it around here, ladies and gentlemen. The bite is on, the scenery is unreal, and now’s the time to get out with us. 🎣🔥

Kayla finally worked up the courage to hold a fish today… and ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to report she made it out with all 10 fingers and all 10 toes intact. 😂🐟 There were definitely a few “OH NO IT’S MOVING!” moments, but she battled through like a champ.

Now… getting her to fully commit to holding one of the giant bull trout? That was a different story entirely. Good thing her husband Alex stepped in for the hero shots with the big fish while Kayla provided moral support from a very safe distance. 🤣

Honestly though, today was an absolute postcard. Crystal blue water, glass-calm lake conditions, towering mountain scenery, and fish that were ready to play. Lots of laughs, lots of memories, and another successful day in bull trout country.

Now’s the time to get out there. 🎣

Two first-time fishers, one unforgettable day on the water. 🎣 These young ladies got the full experience today — learning how to fight fish, net fish, clean fish, and properly care for their catch. We kept a few for dinner, shared lots of laughs and funny stories, and soaked in the beauty of nature the way it’s meant to be enjoyed. Days like this are what fishing is all about… learning new skills, making memories, and enjoying the outdoors together. 🌲🐟☀️

It’s always a good time chasing big, beautiful bull trout, and today was no exception. The sun was shining, the fish were chewing, and the laughs were nonstop.
