FINCA V&G is coming back!

We are so excited to have micro-lots back from one of our favourite producers from the award winning San Juanillo, West Valley of Costa Rica,

This season we will have smaller boxes of 15kg/33lb all vacuum sealed.

H3 hybrid varietal, natural process
H15 experimental varietal, black honey process

We look forward to these flavour bomb micro-lots now in smaller sizes for all coffee roasters to try.

Expect arrivals late Summer 2026.

So, what actually is a R86 special sort or fancy sort?

We get this question a lot and thought it should be quantified.

It's about making our coffee as good as it can be. We work directly with mills and COOPs asking them to meet our quality standards by sorting our coffees multiple times more to special prep standards far above other importers. We pay our COOPs more for this service.

For example: a Gr1 Peru can have up to 15 partial defects per 300 grams, ROOT86 Gr1 Peru will not have more than 5 partials per 300 grams.

If our name is on it, the quality in the bag reflects the best coffee we can import directly for Canadian coffee roasters.
